Global warming or climate change, frequent flood and droughts; and infrastructural development has severely depleted fertile land. However, none of it was his concern.
He was bothered about his livelihood ……. his land. Occasionally he rued his decision to resign from the agricultural university and farm his ancestral land as per his late father’s desire.
The farmer labored hard. The soil was chemically analyzed, surface drainage laid, tube-wells bored and gypsum applied. The land was ready for flushing with water and then planting grass before it could be fruitfully farmed.
He detected a spring in his father’s steps today.
