I do not know why a genetically modified super hero has not over taken our previous icons till date. Water hyacinth (Eichornia), roaches and man are super pests. These have all the potential to be a superhero of the GM age.

Thanks jannat. You forgot the water hyacinth. It occupies vast tratcs of water and is practically invincible and is capable of surviving in most polluted waters.

True. Roaches are not exactly pests, they have just reached the end of evolutionary chain and are likely to last all holocausts.
The water hyacinth is very dangerous pest for it spreads fast and chokes water bodies. It is practically indestructible.
