Ligo Haibun Challenge ~ Nature

Prompt ~  “Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher”  ~ William Wordsworth.

Often we are filled with a restlessness which makes us feel uneasy – if we are not occupied, and makes it impossible for us to just be. Contact with nature relaxes us. It is for this reason that so many of us love the countryside. The beauty and grandeur of nature draws our attention away from the whisperings of our manipulative minds. The stillness and space further relaxes us.

Why?

Nature does not control. It does not bend rules. It’s different elements act as per their disposition. Water flows down, fire burns indiscriminately, winds rush in to areas of low pressure; earth endures silently and the sky covers all.

 True detachment is

 a serene indifference

 stoic as waters deep
