The Vanilla Ice-cream!

During World War I, troops were mobilized through Union Station. Many women worked in the Station’s canteen. These  included Eleanor Roosevelt and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson. The canteen was a favorite loitering place of the soldiers waiting for their trains.

It was here that Ian Lambert bought an ice cream from Susan Wood. The Vanilla flavor lingered till after the end of war when Ian came back and bought another Ice cream from Susan.

That day at Union Station the world changed for them both, forever.

  1. Dear Aesop’s Clerk,

And that’s the way it goes sometimes at train stations. Heart re-unite after long partings. Babies are made and legacies forged. Good story.
