Ian Nivas turned 60 on 29th of the month. He was in good health and most of his worldly responsibilities were behind him. He had enjoyed his work as an assistant to the chief editor of a science journal.
He was retired on the same day. He was feted, paid his dues and sent back with good wishes.
He was an early riser and watched the sun rise next day from his bedroom window. Then he caught sight of the card lying on the side table. He read the message for the umpteenth time and wondered if it was a sunrise or sunset for him.
