Prompt ~
The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. Rabindranath Tagore
“I leave no trace of wings in the air,
but I am glad I have had my flight “ R. Tagore (Gurudev)
Gurudev, a Nobel laureate was a champion of the Bengal Renaissance in India. His contribution included paintings, sketches and doodles, besides hundreds of texts, and nearly two thousand songs. His legacy abides at Visva-Bharati University, which he found at Shanti Niketan near Calcutta.
A timeless universe is an attractive thought. It would bring about a change of attitude among the commoners and help us to jump off the spiral roller-coaster of time based achievements. Such a model may also explain many of the paradoxes that modern physics faces in understanding the true nature of universe that may finally bridge the chasm between objective science and subjective facts mentioned in different scriptures.
The wise one, who follows the predetermined course, is a happy face amid the cosmic mish- mash and learns to enjoy the uniquely satisfying as well as frustrating tiny “nows.”

Thank you for the introduction and information on Rabindranath Tagore. Changing the way anyone thinks is a challenge. I am reminded of the song in the play ‘South Pacific’ which states ‘You’ve got to be taught to hate and fear…’ Just imagine if we could eliminate those negative lessons?
I’m here for the ligo haibun this week…(sorry to be confusing with so many blogs, but it helps me…)

if we coud get rid of our notions and be like a child in our adulthood …. that is enlightenment.
Thank you, Jules 🙂
Aesop.. so true.. in physics the concept of moment is divided. What’s more the moment also define the place… wonderful writing as usual
Thank you, Bjorn.
Brilliantly done. Yes and yes. I understand. An outstanding haibun and a sheer pleasure reading. a perfect haiku! I must admit my mind wanders back and forth between science and the unknown. Awareness, insight and internal musing of all. You express how I think on things – personally within myself! Thank you for that! 🙂
Thank you, Penny for the lovely comment. It is so encouraging to now that others also think like I do especially when I keep getting signals that nobody is really interested in these type of musings. Somehow it is difficult for me to accept that it is only objective facts matter (though I am so trained). So keep looking for the points of intersection between objectivity and subjective perception.
🙂
now in first line should read as ‘know’
For years I thought I was the only one who thought like this, so yes it is fun to find a kindred soul! 🙂
🙂
a timeless universe…very attractive thought. i remember a teacher saying: do not think your life will go on to be different once you pass on, you follow the same path in eternal life. i think this is the essence of your haibun. yes? or maybe not…i work a simple mind. sorry.
Thank you, Sun.
It is not complicated, rather the workings of a muddled mind that seeks the improbable.

interesting, well-explored as usual, Aesop
Thanks Nightlake 🙂
Interesting and very well written. 🙂
Than you 🙂
I need to channel my inner child more often, and grab some of those nano nows. As always, I have learned from you – thank you!
Thank you, freya. Occasionally I just voice my inner conflicts. 🙂

Thank you 🙂
Engaging thoughts…a timeless universe…the relationship of objectivity and subjectivity. But I am afraid I could not understand a physicists mathematical description of these concepts. 🙂
Thank you, Eric.
I also have a little understanding but as far as I understand the relativity of time is a nuisance which physicists have not been able to explain when they address the big concepts like the big bang and the ‘universal equation for everything’.
