Mizaru, covering his eyes, sees no evil. Kikazaru, covering his ears, hears no evil. Iwazaru, covering his mouth, speaks no evil. Together the three embody the proverbial principle to “See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil.” The guide explained to Dom.
‘Where is the fourth one’? Dom asked.
The guide did not comprehend.
‘Where is the fourth one’? Dom asked again.
‘What fourth one?’
‘The one who was their teacher’.
‘I know of no fourth one, sir’.
‘The one who left …… ‘
‘Left for where’, the guide asked.
‘He left to become the King’s advisor’.
‘Who was he, sir’? The guide enquired.
‘He was Konazaru, the teacher of Mizaru, Kikazaru and Iwazaru,’.
‘I never knew this – and what did he advise the king?’ The guide asked.
‘Admit no EVIL’.
