Prompt
Copyright – Janet Webb
The window reflected in the mirror barely merits a second glance though it was deliberately installed by the company at a great cost. It opens in to a small chamber that is used for surveillance and offers a direct view of the king sized bed.
The mirror is just a reflecting film pasted on another window. The setup is reminiscent of the Profumo-Keeler affair.
Today the agents vie with each other for getting the surveillance duty for where else can one watch the extreme-sex machines along with ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ in real life and get paid for it.

ha ha ha ….. it does.
Thanks and cheers. 🙂
Yarnspinnerr, Clever setup indeed. Well researched and written. 🙂 —Susan
Thank you, Susan 🙂
Ah, the old two-way mirror ploy.
Yes.
Thanks for the read.
Nothing as it seems. Except for the sex machines. Original take on the prompt.
Thank you, Sandra. 🙂
Wow. What a free show that would be. I like that the agents fought over the duty. Very nicely done. Lucy
This was a fun write for me.
Thank you. 🙂
Nice work if you can get it! Great take on the prompt.
Thank you.
I will never again feel safe in a bathroom!
🙂
Thank you.
You’d have to pay me to do it. Real life isn’t prettied up. Then again, I haven’t seen either.
Espionage is a dirty business.
Thanks for the read.
I can see them playing rock-scissors-paper for the evening shift. Probably all their reports say, “Inconclusive: needs more surveillance.”
if I had your input before posting it I would have included it in the post.
Thank you.
Ah, the life of a spy 🙂
Thank you. draliman,
I love the way you have incorporated both mirror and window and made them the same. An original and fun take on the prompt. 🙂
Yes it was fun writing this piece once the idea was in place.
Thank you 🙂
That’s very different. Clever.

Thank You for the read and the prompt 🙂
Dear Yarnspinner, I’m no prude, but, I haven’t read the book yet, but I tell you what: For our country and a nice salary, I’d make myself do it – I could sacrifice!
Excellent!
Nan 🙂
I did not like that book, so from my perspective you have not missed anything.
Thanks for the appreciation. 🙂
Ha, yes I guess there are jobs that agents pay to get… Maybe they could sell seats to add to their budget.
The company should consider that. 🙂
Thank you.
Definitely unexpected, YS. Do you figure they get jaded at some point, though? “Oh, no, not the nymphomaniacs in Apartment 22D AGAIN; can’t I surveil someone else just once?” (whining) Nonetheless, a cool & unusual story! 🙂
I suppose some would get a bit jaded with repetetion. 😉
Thanks for the read, Leigh.
creative use of the mirror and betcha the employees love going to work…well, at least some of them. 🙂
🙂
Thank you, Sun.
