The club-secretary’s loud voice broke my reverie as I sat alone in the lounge contemplating this week’s prompt.

CS – You cannot use the club parking for agricultural-machinery.
Dom – It is a new sedan – I just purchased.
CS – Why the back-hoe and shovel?
Dom – That is for the agricultural subsidy. It cost me just half as compared to one without hoe and shovel.
CS – So you shall use that sedan-tractor?
Dom – Just, for today.
CS -??????
Dom – I shall leave it at designated workshop tonight. It will be delivered to me tomorrow evening as a normal sedan.
CS – 🙂

  1. Yarnspinnerr, Good humorous story. It’s a shame they don’t close that loophole. I know of resorts that were built on land that was supposed to be used for agriculture. Well written. 🙂 — Susan

  2. Unfortunately, people (and corporations) play the system for all its worth. Our subsidies have ended out here in the Midwest due to the latest farm bill. Sadly, the news media doesn’t like to talk to the real family farmers who make a living feeding the world.
A timely topic. Enjoyed the story.

  3. Dear Yarnspinner – I agree. The media never has their pulse on the right subjects. I live in the Midwest, and Farmers Feed the World! What more could you ask of a guy, but to get up every morning and go work in the fields. Oh, BTW, I like your story – it’s clever! Nan 🙂

I love arguments
