The house of Don Francisco sat in a remote part of the desert. This DF did not make music but chased legends. He moved here after failing to catch the Yeti, Bigfoot and the Nessie.
A large fat worm inhabits this part of Gobi desert. Olgoi-khorkhoi as the locals call it can kill by spitting a stream of lethal venom or electrocute its victims from a distance. Allowing for hyperbole in myths, a hitherto undiscovered species of sand boa or snake is the most likely zoological explanation.
It is a good cover. His task is to identify large titanic structures – Chinese are building in the remote desert. Many believe them to be a calibrating grid for their spy satellites. Others label them as coded signs in alien language.
Whatever …….. Don has to find the truth.
