Intangible fire …..

Prompt  –

Shiekhsa kept an eye on the road from one of the shuttered windows as she waited for her husband. Her husband got down from a taxi and kept talking to the red-head in the car for 15 minutes. The silhouette of the woman reminded her of Di – her husband’s childhood flame.

Shiekhsa felt insecure, embarrassed, angry, out of control, emotionally drained and physically exhausted. Hellish flames engulfed her whole being.

A neighbor dialed 911 and a fire tender soon reached the small enclosure. They could not find the source of the smoke and suspected criminal mischief.

  1. I’m intrigued. Did she kill the lady out of jealousy?
Also, I liked how you used the fire as a metaphor for how she felt internally.
    Good story!

I love arguments
