The man with the squint finally stopped working. The tank was ready and the faucet worked exactly as he desired. It was the just the right size that the grill would support. He had fixed it at the right height.
He filled it with water and adjusted the tap to drip at a rate of ninety drops an hour.
He read a few pages and added a spoonful of yellow liquid from a glass bottle to the tank. He placed the book entitled ‘VARIATIONS THAT IMPROVE THE SUCCESS RATE OF CHINESE WATER TORTURE’ on the table as the door-bell jingled.
