Prompt –
Finish the story that begins with: “The barista shook his head. That hedge couldn’t have moved closer overnight. Could it?”
The barista shook his head. That hedge couldn’t have moved closer overnight. Could it?
Little David, who lived across the road was pelting stones at the hedge.
David lived with his grandparents and was lulled to sleep by mythological tales from many cultures. Today he had got up before cockcrow and as was his habit he had gone to the barista to fetch some fresh buns for breakfast.
The newly cut hedge looked like demons; and like the original David he had pelted them with marbles he had in his pocket. The demons jumped back to avoid the onslaught.
Spooky! Loved the last line. Thanks gain YS for joining in on the MFtS challenge, and be well… ^..^
This MFtS was really intriguing. Thanks for the challenge and be well. 🙂
Thanks have to go to Ali for the opening line. This hedge was at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. It was definitely unusual and something that I knew would be good for the MFtS challenge. Stay tuned for something plane.
i shall looks forward to it. 🙂
See you next week!
Interesting…. love the last line… the demon shrubs were moving to look for cover! Great story!
Thank you. 🙂
Little David knew the truth! Good one!
Looks like he did. 🙂
Thank you.
Nice story – he was pelting them with marbles like David – boys will be boys. LOL! I am assuming you might be referring to David and Goliath and David’s slingshot?
Yes, David’s slingshot at Goliath inspired this.
Thank you.
When David witnessed that… was he still as brave as his namesake? Well done!
I think he was primed up by all the myths he had been told.
Thank you.
Leave it to a child to guess the truth. I think I’ll stay at another hotel if I go to that city. Cute story and well done, Yarnspinnerr. 🙂 — Suzanne
So true.
Thank you. 🙂
That’s creative 🙂
Thank you.
