Finish the story that begins with: “Delphine always wanted to pilot her father’s plane and when he forgot his keys on her tenth birthday, she knew that taking off would be easy.”
Delphine always wanted to pilot her father’s plane and when he forgot his keys on her tenth birthday, she knew that taking off would be easy. She had grew up reading her father’s stock of Biggle books and week-end flights with her father.
Delphine reached the hangar to find her father’s plane resting on its haunches …. It had been cannibalized for its parts. Tears flowed down her cheek as her heart galloped and missed beats simultaneously.
An attendant walked to her and said, “Your father is waiting for you on the runaway”. She accompanied him in a trance.
When they reached the runaway, she found her father and a group of persons gathered around a new plane.
“ That is your gift girl and the young man here is your coach.”
“Oh ….. PAPA”
Delphine tried hard not to stare at her new coach.
What a great birthday present for Delphine. Not only does she get flying lessons, but she has a good-looking instructor. Well done, Yarnspinnerr. 🙂 — Suzanne
