The abandoned shelf of oil bottles and the oil-press were not disturbed. All the sesame-oil and Jivant …. a master oil-presser had been captured by the King’s men. Another member of the oil-presser’s guild had betrayed him.

Jivant had pressed seeds of wild berries (etc) on the request of Vaidya (doctor) who wanted to help the sick with more concentrated form of herbs. The king believed that Jivant had evaded the due taxes.

Jivant pleaded that pressing of materials other than sesame-seed were not taxable.

Boil him in the oil he pressed for not seeking permission to press non-sesame- oil-seeds.
