The polluted river bisecting the metro is often in the news for all the wrong reasons. The Sial’s hovering on its waters on a thingamajig made from a broken chair and old rubber-tubes – collecting the underwater greenery are all praise it. They worship it as the provider of sustenance.
A young Sial pulls in a net full of triangular green fruits. Each Kilo of the fruit fetches Rs 50, he tells me. The Sial’s farm a private wetland fed by the river for water-chestnuts and make paper from the waste of the plant.
They are truly GREEN.
