This week’s photo prompt is provided by Yinglan Z. Thank you Yinglan.
‘Look that is my new SUV, Pa!’ My son had come to meet me after some time.
‘Very nice, but how did you manage it?’
‘The elections are round the corner and the ruling party is scared. It needs all the support it can muster.’
‘How does it connect ……’
‘I promised the Chief Minister all the votes from our community.’
‘And how will you manage it ….’
‘Not me! You shall do it – Pa,’
I was reminded of the common wisdom – if your son is good-for-nothing; keeps company with hoodlums; and remains on the wrong side of the law, he is ideally suited for Netagiri (politics).
‘Well son, you take care of your affairs and I am going to the farm.’ I started the truck trailer for delivering the potato crop to the cold storage.
On my way to fields I thought that there are only three worthwhile professions in this country –Babugiri (beaurocracy), Babagiri (being a God-man) and Netagiri and all three are incomplete without their SUVs.
