The funeral

Prompt  ….

PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll

Ram nam satya hai. Satya bolo mukta hai.*

I went out in the street to pay my homage and was surprised to find the crowd in a mood of riotous revelry.

I inquired and was informed that they were taking out a funeral-procession of the telephone instrument in the local booth that had been dead since many months in spite of many complaints. The funeral was being taken out as protest to draw the attention of relevant authorities.

The credit for improvement in telecommunication system of India in late 1980s is largely attributed to Sam Pitroda.

Words  <100

*The name of Ram is TRUTH and salvation lies in TRUTH. This is a common chant of people during a funeral procession in North India.

Thanks for the prompt Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. SHALOM.

  1. Ha! Ha! So true of those days. Of course the advantage was you could tell anyone “Really? You called me? Oh my phone is not working no wonder I didn’t pick it up”.

  2. Now people have changed their way of protesting, more violent now. They will rather burn, lynch and damage You can take credit of turning culture, tradition etc. weaving in fiction beautifully.

I love arguments
