Many seasons passed. New generations ruled. Vaguely he remembered the present generation when they were still being nursed by their mothers. During that time, he had possessed many from the living – without thought and without mercy. It had been an eternity he thought.
No! Another voice with in him objected. Eternity is something very different – it is not a vast stretch of time and space. It is a confined space, dark and gloomy – like an attic and often full of giant roaches.
A frail voice urged him to walk out of the attic.
Thanks for the prompt Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. SHALOM.
Prompt ~ Mask
Once long time ago at a costume party, I told Dom that I did not believe in future as described in the concept of eternity.
He smiled and retorted, “what if eternity is something very different from how we view it – what if it is not the vast stretches of time and space; what if it is a confined space like a garret – dark gloomy and full of roaches in all corners”.
If my wife had not divorced me a few months earlier I would have shouted – Honey, Dom has just shrunk the eternity.
The lady on the next table glared at us, took off her nose mask and said “if I knew you two drunks have also been invited I would have brought along my mask of denial”.
Dom had a near-death experience.
Thundering boom ordered.. CONFESS!
I have been skeptical and suspected the eternity to be a small dark room full of awful creatures, sir.
Amazing, how did you know?

We all imagine the eternity to be a limitless expanse of time and space. Why?
