Amongst the many PhDs working in the area of biological sciences only a few have been outstanding; those who have discovered life-saving drugs or subtle techniques to alleviate human suffering. In the area of engineering technology too only a few have produced wonders like the Panama Canal, Golden Gate Bridge or Euro Channel Tunnel.
The performers and non performers are similar in matters of intelligence, training and often the environment. So what makes the performers different? A recent article in Times of India attributes it to intellect an entity distinctly different from intelligence.
I do not dispute the hypotheses. I just understand it differently. Those who have a little crack in their conscious mind that allows the outrageous to enter and the subconscious to communicate with the conscious are better equipped to deliver solutions.
